FLASHPOINT:
The first week of filing is over …
Sun, May 11, 2008 (2:01 a.m.)
The first week of filing is over and here’s what we know: A guy named Steve Nathan thinks it’s OK to declare he has $50,000 from some folks to run for Dina Titus’ state Senate seat but won’t tell us who the folks are. Judge Elizabeth Halverson wants the Supreme Court to take her race off the ballot. A guy who wants to be called “Mr. Clean” on the ballot filed against Rep. Shelley Berkley. State Sen. Valerie Wiener filed for reelection, even though state Sen. Bob Beers told his opponent, Allison Copening, Wiener wasn’t running so Copening would run in Wiener’s district. Donna Toussaint, a Republican endorsed by Democratic Mayor Oscar Goodman, filed for the Assembly. I can’t wait to see what Week 2 brings.
