FLASHPOINT:
Over the last month or so Freedom’s Watch …
Mon, May 12, 2008 (2:01 a.m.)
Over the last month or so Freedom’s Watch, the conservative outfit funded by Gondolier Numero Uno Sheldon Adelson, has stepped up its media activity. The group, after bringing on a veteran of such endeavors as the National Republican Congressional Campaign Committee, has been sending out e-mail blasts. Previously it had been responsible for advertising campaigns designed to help Republicans. But now, by virtue of almost hourly e-mails, Freedom’s Watch is not keeping many Fourth Estate inboxes free of clutter. Some of the stuff is obvious — pummeling Nancy Pelosi or Harry Reid — and some is borderline newsworthy. In that way, they are as in the game as many other groups. I can’t be much kinder than that.
