A MOMENT CAPTURED:

There are many disconnected moments in the daily life of Las Vegas — when locals carry on their normal routines amid celebrity hype and hoopla.
Last week, workers at Planet Hollywood ignored Motley Crue drummer Tommy Lee, covered in suds, with groupies and camera crew in tow.
Lee and rapper Chris “Ludacris” Bridges were trying to create the world’s largest shower (96 feet long, 38 feet wide and almost 16 feet high) to set a Guinness record.
“Save water, shower with a friend,” they said. “Shower to the people.”
How disconnected? This is for an episode on water conservation for “Battleground Earth” for Discovery’s new network, Planet Green. The show begins Aug. 3 on a cable channel that isn’t yet available locally.
