The final race of the Best in the Desert racing series is on its way to the Eldorado Valley as roughly 15 class championships are up for grabs in the fifth annual Henderson Fabtech Desert Classic on Dec. 6.

Held 15 miles southeast of downtown Henderson, the event will feature three races comprised of vehicles from all classes on a 46-mile track.

"It's our final race and it should also be one of our most exciting races," said Casey Folks, director of Best in the Desert. "This is our only event of the year that features a full compliment of vehicles and there should be a lot of championships on the line."

All classes of motorcycles, quads and UTVs will begin at 6:30 a.m., while cars and trucks will race in heats at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. The race is worth twice as many points as a regular-season event, which Folk said should add excitement to the competition.

Spectators are encouraged to set up on the infield, where Folks said they will have a great view of the races as well as the pitting for all vehicles.

The event's headquarters will be in downtown Henderson with registration set for Dec. 4. A pre-run of the course and drivers meeting will be Dec. 5.

An awards presentation will be at 9 a.m. Dec. 7 at the Henderson Convention Center, 200 S. Water St.
