A plane that made an emergency landing at McCarran International Airport today has been cleared to return to service, an airline spokesman said.

Pilots reported smelling smoke in the cockpit of flight 1086 to Atlanta shortly after takeoff at 12:55 p.m. and returned to McCarran landing about 20 minutes later.

The plane, a Delta Air Lines Boeing 757, was investigated and the problem has been resolved, said Delta spokesman Carlos Santos.

The cause of the odor is “still being assessed,” Santos said, but the plane is safe to continue service. The flight is scheduled to leave Las Vegas at 4 p.m. to Atlanta.

The plane, carrying 190 passengers and crew, landed safely with no injuries and no visible sign of fire, said Ian Gregor, spokesman for the Federal Aviation Administration.
