An 82-year-old man who was beaten in July during an apparent robbery died Monday and three people who were facing other charges in connection with the alleged attack are now charged with murder, Henderson Police said.

Police say Mickey M. Thomas, 26, of Las Vegas, and two girls, ages 15 and 16, already were in custody in connection with the July 24 incident.

They had each been charged with attempted murder, but after the victim died, all three were re-booked on murder charges.

The Clark County Coroner’s Office has not released the victim’s identity. Police say the 15- and 16-year-old girls knew the victim before the attack and helped to set it up. Both were in the home when the attack took place, police said.

The victim lived on Cervantes Drive, near Sunset Road and Valle Verde Drive.

Authorities said the man answered a knock at the door and Thomas, along with two other men, attacked and robbed him.

The other two alleged attackers have not been identified.

Anyone with information about the crime is asked to call Henderson Police at 267-5000. Callers wishing to remain anonymous can contact Crime Stoppers at 385-5555.
