Man dies after fight, parking lot stabbing

A man was taken into custody and booked into jail for murder after a deadly fight early this morning on East Sahara Avenue, Metro Police said.

At 3:33 a.m., officers responded to a report of a fight involving several people at the Village Square Commercial Center, 953 E. Sahara Ave., according to Sgt. Steve Naegele. Officers arrived at the scene and found a 22-year-old man with stab wounds in the parking lot. He was taken to Sunrise Hospital, where he later died, police said.

Security officers chased the suspect and took him into custody. He is identified as 24-year-old Edgar Magana. Magana was taken to the Clark County Detention Center and booked for murder with a deadly weapon, according to the report.

The identity of the victim is being withheld pending identification and notification of family.
