Map

A 39-year-old man is dead following a late-night dispute that turned violent, a Metro Police spokesman said.

At about 1:30 a.m. today, police were called to a fight in the 8700 block of Harvest Valley Avenue, near Durango Drive and Cheyenne Avenue, Sgt. Rocky Alby said.

Upon arriving at the scene, officers found a 39-year-old man who wasn't breathing. He was transported to MountainView Hospital, where he died as a result of his injuries, the report said.

Homicide detectives spoke with witnesses who said both the victim and possible suspect had been drinking before getting into a fight. The man is cooperating with investigators and has given a statement to homicide detectives. The case, once completed, will be submitted to the Clark County District Attorney’s office, the report said.

The identity of the victim is being withheld pending positive identification and notification of family.

Anyone with information is being asked to call Metro at 828-3521 or Crime Stoppers at 385-5555.
