I make a point of playing the gayest slot machines whenever I spot them at the casino. Enchanted Unicorn? I’m in. That Girl? Uh-huh. I Dream of Jeannie? Mmm-hmmm. The Village People? Duh … they dance to YMCA when you hit the right combination! So when I saw the towering new Sex and the City progressive slots at Aria, I ran across the casino floor. The faces of Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte spin on four screens—pick one or play all four. Apparently the voice of Mr. Big himself congratulates you if you win a bonus round. Even after dropping five big ones ($5, my usual limit), I didn’t end up hearing from him. I’ve since learned that a slot machine based on American Idol will hit the casinos in late summer—triggering a bonus round lets you become Simon, Kara or Randy. All this got me dreaming of slots based on my other favorite shows: Jersey Boys? … Project Runway? ... Dexter?
