boulder city:

City Council candidate forum planned

A forum for City Council candidates is planned for Feb. 23 from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Boulder City Library.

All 10 candidates have been invited to the panel discussion, organizer Richard McHale said.

Since January, McHale has held BC Facts community meetings on the Mondays before City Council meetings so citizens can discuss solutions to city issues.

The meetings have focused so far on the Redevelopment Agency, Boulder Creek Golf Club and city management.

At the panel discussion, McHale said, he plans to ask all of the candidates their approaches to such city problems.

The City Council candidates are Tim Clifford, a business consultant and general contractor; Matt DiTeresa, an operating engineer; Chris Gatlin, who owns a local painting and trailer rental business; retired Boulder City Library Director Duncan McCoy; Anthony Pakula, who retired from Hoover Dam; Jim Reed, a retired Boulder City Police officer; Joe Roche, who runs a recycling business; Planning Commissioner John Schleppegrell; former City Councilman Bill Smith; and Cam Walker, a project development director.

All but three of them attended the Feb. 9 BC Facts meeting, but did not make presentations.

For more information, call McHale at 328-6832 or e-mail [email protected].
