A 30-year-old man was sentenced to five life sentences Tuesday in District Court for the rape and murder of a Boulder City woman.

Kahmuhhnatee Eisenhour, 30, pleaded guilty in January to murder with a deadly weapon, sexual assault with a deadly weapon and first-degree kidnapping in the death of 51-year-old Sharon Sharpe.

His attorney, Tim O'Brien, said Eisenhour pleaded guilty to avoid the death penalty.

On May 6, 2006, tourists found Sharpe in the desert near the Hacienda Hotel and Casino, beaten and near death, according to police reports. She had been stabbed and hit with a rock.

National Park Service rangers tried to revive her, but she died on the way to University Medical Center.

Eisenhour told police that he and Sharpe had consensual sex in the desert. When she asked him to stop, he told police, she tripped and hit her head on a rock.
