Two men were arrested on kidnapping charges Friday after North Las Vegas police said they stole a car with a 1-year-old child inside.

Authorities responded at 5:25 p.m. to a home in the 3100 block of Inlet Bay Avenue after receiving a 911 call from the child's father. He reported he had left his vehicle running in the driveway while returning to the house for a moment.

When the father came back outside, the vehicle had been stolen with the child in the back seat, North Las Vegas police said.

The car was found abandoned about 20 minutes later with the child unharmed inside. Two men, Alex Pupo, 19, and Jeffrey Lamendola, 25, were arrested a short time later, police said.

Both face one felony count of grand larceny auto and one felony count of first-degree kidnapping. The child's father isn't facing charges, investigators said.
