Man accused of relationships with teen girls pleads not guilty

A Henderson man accused of carrying on sexual relationships with two 14-year-old girls pleaded not guilty to 61 charges at an arraignment this morning at the Regional Justice Center.

Henderson Police arrested Trevor Sarnowski, 37, on May 27 on suspicion of 61 charges, including several counts of lewdness with a minor, sexual assault on a victim under the age of 14 and the production and possession of child pornography.

His trial was set for Feb. 16.

In the arrest report, police said one of the alleged victims told a friend that she was having a sexual relationship with Sarnowski, and the friend in turn contacted police. After interviewing both alleged victims police said one of them said she had been assaulted by Sarnowski since she was 6 years old. Police also said Sarnowski recorded some of the assaults on video.

Sarnowski’s attorney, Public Defender Jeff Maningo, said he can’t discuss the case until he receives the transcript of the grand jury proceedings that resulted in Sarnowski’s indictment. Neither Maningo nor his client was able to see the proceedings, but Maningo said he expects to receive the transcript within the next week.

“We don’t know what was said or the specifics of the allegations beyond what was in the police report,” Maningo said.
