Issues: Following principles of smart growth that include high paying jobs, open spaces and good schools; maintaining police and fire protection, keeping taxes low, building and maintaining the necessary streets to alleviate traffic congestion, aggressively pursuing federal funds from the president's economic stimulus package to make sure Henderson gets it fair share.

Our government must be open, accessible, inclusive of all points of view and fully transparent.

Qualifications: First, I have been a sitting City Councilman for 22 years.

I served more than 23 years with Las Vegas Metro Police in the Special Investigations Unit, four years with the FBI, and was an accountant for Sunrise Hospital. In addition, I am a member of the Regional Transportation Commission, the Clark County Debt Management Commission and the Regional Flood Control District. Most importantly, being part of a fourth generation family in Henderson gives me great insight into the desires and needs of our residents. And finally, since I am retired, I can commit the necessary time to get the job done.

What sets you apart from your opponents: I am the candidate that has the most experience. I have the vision and commitment to lead Henderson through these tough times to a brighter future for all generations. Not only does my 20-plus years of City Council service make me able to do the job well, but being the only candidate in this race who has both a financial and law enforcement background prepares me to handle all the difficult issues that face our city.

I am a member of the Regional Transportation Commission, so I am in a position to help with the streets and highways that will be needed in our community.
