Cheyenne finished off its divisional schedule with a 27-0 victory against Mojave on Friday.

The Desert Shields improved to 5-4 and clinched a playoff spot with the win.

“We ran the ball really well,” Cheyenne coach Perryn Hale said. “And the defense played really well in posting its first shutout of the year.”

Jordan Butler and Andrew Calhoun led Cheyenne with nearly 200 combined yards rushing. As a unit, the Cheyenne defense stifled Mojave.

“As the year has gone on, the defense has done a great job progressing,” Hale said. “They’ve really grown up.”
