A 25-year-old Las Vegas man has been charged with two counts of sexual assault after allegedly molesting a 4-year-old relative while she was sleeping at his home.

The girl told Metro Police investigators that Dustin James Barral came into the room where she and a young male relative were sleeping and began touching her "private parts" and buttocks, according to an arrest report. The girl told her mother about the alleged incident, then the mother called police.

According to the arrest report, police interviewed the girl’s mother, grandmother and others during the investigation. The grandmother told police she had heard a discussion between Barral and his wife during which Barral said he had forgotten the girl was in the bedroom and had accidentally sat on her.

The girl told police that the young boy was in the room at the time of the alleged assault, police said.

Police said the girl was staying at the home because her mother was in the hospital. Barrall is an employee of the United States Postal Service.

He is being held at the Clark County Detention Center. Bail was set at $50,000.
