Woman identified in triple shooting at storage business

Triple shooting

A woman killed Friday night in a triple shooting at a business near the intersection of Tropicana Avenue and Valley View Boulevard has been identified as 48-year-old Shannon Larkin, according to the Clark County Coroner's Office.

Larkin died from a single gunshot to the head and her death was ruled a homicide, the coroner said.

Metro Police responded at 8:22 p.m. Friday to the shooting at Tiberti Mini Warehouses, 4870 S. Valley View, after receiving a 911 call in which a man reported he had shot a woman in the head. Police Lt. Lew Roberts said officers responded to a storage unit with an office and live-in space, then made contact with a man armed with a handgun.

Police told the man to put down the weapon. The man placed the gun on a counter and ran to a back bedroom, then officers heard a shot, Roberts said.

A man and Larkin were found dead, and a 49-year-old woman suffering from a gunshot wound to the head was taken to University Medical Center, authorities said. The coroner's office hadn't identified the man by early Monday afternoon.
