Metro Police are asking for the public’s help in finding a man who robbed a Las Vegas convenience store earlier this week.

The man entered the business Wednesday near Jones Boulevard and Smoke Ranch Road in the northwest Las Vegas Valley, where he displayed a weapon and demanded money, police said.

Police didn't reveal what the weapon was or how much money the man took. Authorities also weren't identifying the store.

Police described the robber as a black man between 30 and 40 years old standing about 5-feet-8 and about 180 pounds. He was wearing a black beanie hat with a star on the front that possibly was a Dallas Cowboys insignia, police said.

Anyone with information is being asked to call Metro’s Robbery Department at 828-3591 or Crime Stoppers at 385-5555.
