Education: UNLV, Bachelor of Science in business administration management
About Jade Anderson: Jade Anderson founded Capstone Brokerage Inc. in 1997 as a newly minted UNLV graduate, tapping into what he identified as a viable and lucrative market. “I saw an opportunity in the insurance industry to develop a scalable recurring revenue business model with relatively low barriers to entry,” said Anderson, who is also the founder of NextUp Marketing, a marketing firm focused on website design, search engine optimization, social media and online strategies. Under Anderson’s leadership, Capstone has emerged as one of the valley’s largest commercial insurance agencies, with revenue growth of 746 percent since 2003. Despite the recent economic downturn, Capstone grew 12 percent last year, and Anderson predicts future growth of 15 to 20 percent. He is also considering diversification into other regional markets. Capstone specializes in risk management, property and casualty insurance, and employee benefits. The company was included in “Inc. Magazine’s” list of America’s top 5,000 fastest-growing companies twice, placing No. 1,146 in 2008 and No. 2,298 in 2009. Anderson, who was named 2008 “Small Business Person of the Year” by the SBA and represented Nevada in Washington, D.C., at the National Small Business Week, is president of the board of trustees for Olive Crest Homes & Services for Abused Children, and is committed to speaking up for the rights of abused kids, who often don’t have a voice themselves.
