Suspicious backpack determined not to be a threat

Metro Police responded this afternoon to a mobile home park off North Las Vegas Boulevard, near North Lamb Boulevard, to examine a suspicious backpack found outside a laundry room.

Metro Police Lt. Chris Jones said officers received a call at 4:25 p.m. from the manager of the Bluebird Mobile Home Park, 3920 North Las Vegas Blvd., that indicated the backpack might contain some type of destruction device.

Jones said officers arrived on the scene and discovered a green portable oxygen bottle in the bag. The investigation was called off and the oxygen bottle is being returned to its owner.
