Behold: The eighth deadly sin

Vanity’s Sin Sundays are all tees

NYE 2009: John Mayer, Vanity, Body English @HRH

Don Chareunsy

Vanity in the Hard Rock Hotel opens for business on New Year’s Eve 2009.

Body English had Sunday nights on lock for some appreciable time. The popular Sunday School promotion brought us "Sex Ed" hosted by adult-film stars, "PhysEd" with sports icons, and "Music Class" with guest artists. Ladies in school girl get-ups enjoyed years of bottomless champagne. And who could forget those cocktail uniforms?! (Gentlemen, you're welcome.)

But now that Vanity has assumed Body English's grip on our weekend-end schedule, so too shall she claim the seventh day for her own with Sin Sundays.

Not "SIN" as in Service Industry Night — the original of its kind from back in the pre-Light days at the House of Blues — Sin refers to the Seven Deadly variety, although the Nightlife Group at the Hard Rock wishes to offer up an eight sin: Vanity.

Beginning in the next few weeks, Vanity's Sin Sundays will continue the Hard Rock tradition of industry/locals night on Sundays with yet another irresistible promotion. Vanity will be releasing and distributing a line of sexy, custom ladies' tees, each design featuring a new sin. The tees will be distributed each week and ladies who "show their sins," that is, who arrive in the pre-prescribed tee that following Sunday, once again will enjoy an evening of bottomless champagne on the house.

So, with which sin will the promo begin? The Nightlife Group's Cory McCormack says it will probably be Lust: "That's my favorite sin."
