At the city of Henderson, we have been celebrating our city’s business excellence for more than a decade. In past years, there has been much to celebrate. Times have been good, business has boomed and Henderson’s population has grown at exponential rates.
In fact, we have had the honor to salute and recognize more than 200 new and local businesses over the past decade for their investments in Henderson, which total more than $1 billion in economic impact to the community.
This year everyone is feeling the crunch of an economy that has seen better days. However, there are still great things happening in Henderson. Many exceptional businesses and individuals are continuing to stimulate our local economy through their growth, expansion and job creation.
In fact, in 2009, our business awardees and developers created a positive economic impact of nearly $75 million to the community through their commercial real estate investments and new annual payrolls. These businesses and individuals are critical to our economic recovery, and it is more important than ever to recognize the investments they have put into our city to make it a great place to live, work and play.
These businesses are a major lifeline to our city. I would like to congratulate all of the outstanding businesses who continue to do business here and wish them all the best for continued success with us here in Henderson, a place to call home. Sincerely,
Mark T. Calhoun, P.E.
City Manager, City of Henderson
