Accident location

Five people were injured Tuesday morning when a vehicle and a tour bus collided on Tropicana Avenue at the Interstate 15 interchange.

Nevada Highway Patrol Trooper Joseph Fackrell said the tour bus driver and four passengers were hospitalized with injuries that were "not serious."

Authorities responded at 6:38 a.m. to the crash after the westbound bus and eastbound passenger car collided in the intersection. The crash occurred as the small bus, which Fackrell estimated had room for about 15 people, was turning onto the southbound Interstate 15 on-ramp.

Fackrell said one driver ran a red light as the front of the car struck the right-front of the tour bus in the intersection. There were no independent witnesses to the crash and authorities were investigating who ran the red light, Fackrell said.

The bus came to rest after striking a utility pole. The driver of the car wasn't injured.

The tour bus was leaving Las Vegas en route to Hollywood.

Aerial views showed Clark County fire paramedics treating several people outside the tour bus. The Tropicana Avenue on-ramp to Interstate 15 had been closed while troopers investigated.
