I was trying to think of an example that would clarify why so many people are upset with the illegal immigrant issue. Judging by recent protests, some legal immigrants seem to think that Americans place all immigrants into one category, whether they are legal or otherwise. Not so. Here is a pretty good analogy I came up with.
Picture yourself in a movie theater with your wife and two kids, ready to watch a feature movie in 3-D. The tickets cost you over $60, which seemed pretty steep for a movie. Just as the lights begin to dim, you see someone down in the corner of the theater opening the exit door to let in six people. These six people are in the theater illegally. They are about to enjoy the same entertainment that you paid a lot for.
In America, we are facing not only a moral issue, but a problem that is devastating city, state and national budgets. There are just too many people coming over our borders illegally, just like those who sneaked into the movie theater, and once here they expect to share the American dream without an admission ticket. Come on, Congress, show us some guts.
