A former North Las Vegas police officer's lawyer is protesting the release of a video showing another officer slamming a handcuffed man to the floor in a casino holding room.
Attorney Richard Schonfeld on Wednesday called it "offensive" that the video was made public days after a jury acquitted former officers James Balelo and Mark Miles of criminal charges.
North Las Vegas police Sgt. Tim Bedwell says the video was released after a TV station freedom of information request.
Schonfeld represents Balelo. He's trying to get his job back after being acquitted Friday of misdemeanor filing a false report in the December 2008 incident.
The other former officer, Mark Miles, was acquitted of filing a false report and felony oppression under color of office. He's not seeking his job back
