Veteran developer Jim Rizzi joined Pardee Homes as director of community development to help oversee the company’s large-scale residential project at Coyote Springs. Pardee is master residential developer of the 42,000-acre master-planned Coyote Springs golf course community in Clark and Lincoln counties some 50 minutes north of Las Vegas. Some 20,000 acres have been set aside for residential development in Coyote Springs. Development of the first 3,000 acres is planned to include approximately 10,000 homes in five distinct villages. Surrounded by protected federal land 20 miles in almost any direction, Coyote Springs is planned to include some 12,000 acres of nature preserve, extensive trail systems, parks, open spaces and multi-species habitat. This includes the preservation and/or reconstruction of environmentally sensitive washes and wildlife corridors. Development at Coyote Springs will be like building a small city, complete with the utilities and infrastructure necessary to support it, according to Rizzi. The largest project in the history of Pardee Homes, Coyote Springs is also the largest privately held property approved for development in Southern Nevada. Rizzi previously led development efforts for other large builders in Nevada and California. He helped Del Webb develop the Anthem community and also worked in land development for Riverside County, Calif. when it was the fastest-growing county in the nation.
