Julie Cleaver is vice president of Planning and Design for The Howard Hughes Corporation, an affiliate of General Growth Properties, Inc. of Chicago. In this position, she manages all current and long range planning efforts as well as the entitlement review, development and design processes for Summerlin, a 22,500 acre master-planned community in Las Vegas. Her leadership in these areas ensures innovative planning solutions that promote sustainable and smart growth strategies. Cleaver has more than 20 years of experience in the land development industry. Previously, she served as the land planning principle for LDR International in Maryland; as the Land Development Manager for McStain Enterprises, Inc. in Colorado; and as the vice president of David Jensen Associates, Inc. in Colorado. Cleaver has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and a Bachelor of Science in Landscape Architecture from The Ohio State University. She serves on Clark County Open Space Advisory Committee as well as the Regional Transportation Commission Stakeholder Advisory Committee. She is a member of the Kenan-Flagler Business School Real Estate Club, Urban Land Institute, National Association of Industrial and Office Properties Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce, and she is a registered Landscape Architect in the State of North Carolina.
