Sharron Angle releases Internet ad in bid to unseat Harry Reid

Sharron Angle Ad

Republican Senate hopeful Sharron Angle has released an Internet ad accusing Sen. Harry Reid of spending special interest money in a "brutal advertising assault ... to throw mud and try to tear down his opponent" in the November election race.

Angle is a former Nevada state lawmaker and tea party favorite who won the June 8 GOP primary to oppose the Senate Democratic majority leader.

She's also using her first Web advertisement of the general election campaign to seek contributions "to take back the America we love ... before Harry Reid attacks again."

Reid's on track to raise $25 million for the campaign. Angle's campaign raised $1.2 million through mid-May. Angle calls for phasing out Social Security, eliminating the Education Department and repealing the federal income tax.
