LETTER TO THE EDITOR:

The more radical the change in D.C., the better for us

Regarding the Las Vegas Sun’s Monday editorial about Republican Senate nominee Sharron Angle, headlined “Definition of recklessness”:

The reason I intend to support Ms. Angle in her bid to defeat Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid is that we must ultimately replace all 535 members of Congress with the most radical, unconventional and classically liberal thinkers we can find.

It is indeed reckless to continue on the path we have set for ourselves. It is so convenient to take words out of context to paint the speaker as unbalanced. But no Congress has ever been as unbalanced as the current one.

Anyone who believes that Social Security, Medicare and the government pension systems are on firm foundations must be deluded or a thief.

Unless we can get statesmen in Washington — who are willing to reduce the size of government; bring our country, our courts and our leadership back into alignment with the U.S. Constitution; and reduce our budget by 40 to 50 percent — we have no hope of saving our nation for our posterity.

We have passed the time where a radical approach is needed.
