More than five years after opening a gallery in the arts district, Marty Walsh has remained a success story — a gallerist rotating quality monthly exhibits, keeping consistent hours and running a self-sustaining business. Now Walsh is expanding her Trifecta Gallery, moving from the 225-square-foot cube in the back of the Arts Factory to a highly visible 1,200-square-foot space up front, allowing for more breathing room during solo exhibits, a small boutique and a visible inventory that includes works by Stephen Hendee, JW Caldwell, Casey Weldon, Anthony Freda, Thomas Lee Bakofsky and others. Moreover, it dramatically improves the Arts Factory's curb appeal. The floor-to-ceiling storefront window announces new exhibits and welcomes visitors to a fresh, contemporary art space. A volunteer-run concierge inside will assist Arts Factory guests.

The timing couldn't be better. The arts district is listed in the new ACE bus line's map, to which Walsh attributes the sudden increase of tourist traffic, including those of the art-buying sort. This, the Contemporary Arts Center's resurgence and the arrival of Brett Wesley Gallery, makes for a better destination.
