The Clark County Coroner’s Office has identified a motorcyclist killed in a collision with a school bus Monday as 58-year-old David Levin of Henderson.

Metro spokesman Marcus Martin said the crash occurred at 1:39 p.m. at Sahara Avenue and Atlantic Street, which is near Sahara’s intersection with Eastern Avenue. Investigators said the bus was turning left from eastbound Sahara onto Atlantic on a permissive green signal as a westbound 2006 Kawasaki Vulcan was approaching with a green signal.

As the motorcycle approached the bus, Levin locked the brakes and the motorcycle fell onto its side, police said. The motorcycle and Levin slid into the side of the bus. No children were on the bus, police said.

Levin was pronounced dead at the scene. The coroner’s office said Levin died of multiple blunt force injuries as a result of the wreck. His death has been ruled accidental.

The driver of the bus, identified as 44-year-old Miguel Quijano, wasn't injured.
