All eyes on Chey-town vs. Palo Verde

Palo Verde hosts Cheyenne in a Thursday night game between two traditional Northwest powers. The Panthers have looked nearly invincible while starting the season 5-0, but could the Desert Shields give them a scare in this rivalry game?

Justin Brown returned a fumble 30 yards for a touchdown on the second play of the game Friday to lead the Eldorado High football team to a 58-28 victory against Sunrise Mountain.

The win improves Eldorado’s record to 3-2 overall and 2-1 in the Northeast Division.

One year after winning one game, the Sundevils control their own destiny in reaching the playoffs. Two victories in their final four games will likely land Eldorado in the postseason.

“It’s basically a four-game season for us,” Eldorado coach Vernon Brown said. “We know what is in front of us. The kids are confident.”

Cesar Urruitia’s and Brett VanOrden each had a pair of touchdowns for the Sundevils.
