Henderson is accepting entries into its comic strip-themed WinterFest Parade.
This year, parade organizers are looking for bands, organizations, families or businesses to dress up as their favorite Sunday comics, such as Snoopy or Batman. Participation is free, but the city is offering some cash prizes to those with the best outfits.
The winner will receive $750, second place is $500, and third place is $250.
WinterFest is a three-day holiday celebration Dec. 9, 10 and 11 at the Henderson Events Plaza, 200 S. Water Street. The parade is Saturday, Dec. 11 at 10 a.m.
Those wanting to participate must register by Nov. 24 at www.hendersonlive.com or by calling 267-2171.
