Bus schedules altered for Labor Day holiday

Riders of the valley’s public transit system should expect buses to run on a different schedule Monday.

The Regional Transportation Commission said buses will use a Sunday schedule on Monday for the Labor Day holiday, when there are typically fewer riders and less traffic on valley roads.

The commission typically uses a Sunday scheduled for holidays with the lowest ridership and a Saturday schedule for holidays with slightly higher ridership.

Buses will use a Sunday service in the next year on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Year’s Day, Memorial Day and Independence Day.

They will use a Saturday schedule on the day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Martin Luther King Day and Presidents Day.

The full schedule is available in the commission’s transit guide online at rtcsnv.com or by calling 228-7433.
