Community Associations Institute of Nevada members received professional community association manager designations: Melissa Bott, Anne Calarco, Phil Crapo, Jason Hoorn, Denise Keser, Barbara Laurienti, Lisa McKenzie, Karla Pearson Call, Kristin Kemhoff, Chuck Rosenbaum, Robin Styles and Katherine Wolfe.

Jason DeMuth is customer liaison, Roxy Borkenhagen is administrator, Carlos Espinoza is energy rater and weatherization specialist, Gino Cimino is project manager, Derek Connor is estimator, Frank Cruz is installer, Deanna Waddell is energy rater, Angel Torres is energy rater and weatherization specialist and Sean Alpine is HVAC installer for Distinct Energy Performance.

John Clancy of Dorwin Systems earned his cerfified fire and egress door inspection license.

Jimmy Marsh has joined the Heller Cos. where he will oversee the company’s Valley View Business Center. Marsh was assistant vice president of operations for Harsch Investment Properties’ central Las Vegas portfolio.

Myrna Toledo is intake coordinator for Helping Hands of Vegas Valley, responsible for scheduling and conducting all new client assessments. Toledo was an intern with Helping Hands before joining the organization full time. She has a bachelor’s degree in human services/management.

Bryan Jorgensen is sales, marketing and communications director for the Henderson Chamber of Commerce. Jorgensen will oversee membership development for the chamber.

Ann Lehtinen is executive vice president for Leeds & York, responsible for running the day-to-day operations of the company’s Las Vegas office.

Alek Marcetich is sales associate with ManagedPAY. Marcetich will focus on human resource and payroll needs of small to mid-size businesses.

Aimee Romero is media relations specialist for MassMedia Corporate Communications. Before joining MassMedia, Romero was an independent marketing and public relations consultant.

Ryan Cogley was promoted to assistant project manager, Nate Jacobs was promoted to assistant project superintendent, Forrest Pixton was promoted to lead estimator and Karie Lawson was promoted to estimating assistant for McCarthy Building Cos. Cogley, a graduate of Montana State University, joined McCarthy in 2007 as a project engineer on the McCarran Airport Terminal 3 Early Site Civil Package. He is currently working on the completion of the Mesquite Wastewater Treatment Plant expansion. Jacobs started with McCarthy in 2007 as an intern on the Terminal 3 Early Site Civil Package and later rejoined McCarthy in 2008 as a project engineer on the same project. He is currently leading McCarthy’s self perform efforts on the Valley High School Modernization project. Pixton joined McCarthy’s estimating staff in 2008, initially serving as document control clerk and RFI coordinator and has quickly taken a lead role in managing McCarthy’s subcontractor databases, while also becoming the Las Vegas Division’s point person for MC2 and OnScreen. Pixton is currently assisting in the selection of a national standard for 3-D estimating software. Lawson joined the estimating department in 2008, and has since taken a lead role in managing the subcontractor database.

Jeff Fine was named to the board of the Opportunity Village Foundation. Fine is chief executive officer of Fine Venture Partners, which has interests in real estate, casino development and retail store operations.

Trevor Goodsell, Sean Larkin, Aaron Lee, Ryan Michaelis, John Quinto and Jamie Yamamoto were promoted to senior associate by Piercy Bowler Taylor & Kern. Goodsell is an auditor who has been with the company since 2006. Larkin joined PBTK in 2007 and services clients in the government and nonprofit areas. Lee joined the firm in 2008 and is also a certified fraud examiner. Michaelis is a tax accountant who joined the firm in 2007. Quinto joined the firm in 2008 and Yamamoto joined in 2007 and works primarily for casino resorts, nonprofit organizations and governments.

Dustin Parker is manager of marketing and business development and Brittany Burridge is marketing coordinator for Red Carpet Marketing & Public Relations.

Leon Mead II, an appellate and construction law partner with Snell & Wilmer, has been appointed editor of the Nevada State Bar Construction Law Newsletter.

Andre Sears is vice president of business development for United Capital Las Vegas. Sears was previously vice president of business development for a local bank and private client manager for a private real estate investment company.

The MGM Resorts Foundation donated $50,000 to Easter Seals Southern Nevada to benefit the organization’s supported living services.

The College of Southern Nevada’s CSN Foundation presented the Las Vegas Hospitality Association with a key to honor it’s more than $250,000 in donations to scholarship and programs during the last five years.

Smart City Networks donated equipment and personnel for extending wireless network services from The Miracle League of Las Vegas’ main building to two buildings at the baseball field.

Miscellaneous

The three Las Vegas Valley St. Rose Dominican Hospitals campuses, MountainView Hospital and Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center were recognized by HealthInsight with the organization’s Quality Award. In addition, Centennial Hills Hospital Medical Center’s acute myocardial infarction care and heart failure care center and Valley Hospital Medical Center’s pneumonia care were named most improved.
