Henderson Police said a suspected child rapist recently featured on the show "America's Most Wanted" might be hiding out in the area.

The Henderson Police dispatch center received a call Sunday indicating that 45-year-old Lonnie Ray Correll, who is wanted in connection with child rape charges in Oklahoma, was spotted at the Desert Sands Mobile Home Park, 120 E. Sunset Road.

The caller told dispatchers Correll was featured on the television program Saturday night, police said.

Officers went to the address but did not find Correll, police said. Investigators believe he left Saturday night or early Sunday.

The alleged rape of the 11-year-old in Norman, Okla., occurred in June 2009, officials said.

According to the case profile on the "America's Most Wanted" website, an Oklahoma couple let Correll stay at their house beginning in 2008 when he became unemployed and homeless. In exchange, Correll agreed to help babysit the couple's children.

Within a year of him living there, a family member allegedly caught Correll sexually assaulting one of the children. Correll fled the home and hasn't been found.

Norman Police described Correll as about 5-feet-3-inches tall and 125 pounds with long, straight blond hair and a mustache. He sometimes wears reading glasses and was last known to be driving a black 1999 Mitsubishi SUV with Oklahoma license plate 422-APD.

Correll's suspect profile on the "America's Most Wanted" website suggests he might be accompanied by his two Husky dogs.

Henderson Police have notified other local law enforcement agencies about Correll's possible sighting in Southern Nevada.

Anyone with information is being asked to contact Crime Stoppers at (702) 385-5555 or crimestoppersofnv.com.
