Holding Onto Sound

As the local punk-rock quartet prepares to release new album The Sea this month, we dig into the brain of singer/guitarist Bennett Mains.

Been listening to: “Board Up the House by Genghis Tron, Interpol’s new album and a ton of jazz and surf.”

Best show he’s ever seen: “NOFX at House of Blues. They played The Decline and Punk in Drublic. No wait, NOFX, when we opened for them at the Joint.”

Dream guitar: “A ’56 or ’57 Telecaster. Or a Rickenbacker. I had one and it got stolen out of my car. And I’d really like to build my own guitar someday.”

Recently watched: “Black-metal documentary Until the Light Takes Us.”

Favorite road food: “The whole band loves Starbursts. We always have multiple packs going.”
