A fire displaced at least 20 people from their apartments Thursday afternoon near Tropicana Avenue and Spencer Street.

Clark County spokesman Dan Kulin said firefighters responded at 1:09 p.m. to the fire at the Century Village apartments, 4801 Spencer St., and had the fire out by 1:30 p.m. The fire was in a two-story building that contained eight units.

Kulin said extensive smoke and water damage made the building uninhabitable. Red Cross was assisting the victims.

No injuries were reported. Kulin said high winds were a factor in the spread of the fire.

Fire investigators were at the scene Thursday afternoon to determine the cause of the fire.
