Metro Police officers to conduct voluntary car seat checkpoint

Car seat checkpoint

Officers from Metro Police's traffic bureau will be available Thursday morning outside Morgan Family Park in the northeast valley for children's car seat safety awareness.

The voluntary checkpoint, on eastbound Bonanza Road between Pecos and Sandhill Roads, will promote proper use and installation of car seats, officials said.

Those who wish to receive a free inspection of their children's car seats will be directed nearby to certified inspectors from Safe Kids of Clark County.

The checkpoint will be from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m., which might cause traffic delays on that stretch of road, officials said.
