The Henderson Libraries and the St. Rose Dominican Hospitals are partnering to help seniors take charge of their health.

Henderson Libraries is offering free six-week health workshops on Mondays beginning May 2. The workshops will be from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Green Valley Library, 2797 N. Green Valley Parkway.

Trained volunteer leaders will teach seniors, ages 55 and older, how to find practical ways to deal with pain and fatigue, make better nutrition and exercise choices, understand new treatment options and learn how to better communicate with doctors and family members about their health. Seniors will have the opportunity to make a step-by-step plan to improve their lives and health during the workshops.

Although the workshops are free, registration is required. At least 10 registered participants are needed for the program. Interested residents may register online at www.mypubliclibrary.com or by calling 702-207-4261.

More information about the workshops can be found on the Henderson Libraries website or calling 702-492-6580.
