Metro Police blocked off a portion of a neighborhood in the northeast valley Monday as they tried to serve a search warrant related to a domestic violence situation.

Metro spokesman Jay Rivera said officers went this morning to take a man into custody related to a domestic violence call police responded to Sunday.

Police arrived at a residence where authorities believed he was staying, 5673 Forsythe Drive, and found his car with bullet holes, blood and bandages inside, Rivera said.

The woman involved in Sunday's domestic situation is safe, department spokeswoman Laura Meltzer said.

Officers are still trying to find the man, Meltzer said.
