Nightlife news & notes: Ditch Fridays with Hef and more

Prince William and Kate

Tim Hales, AP

Celebrate the royal wedding at Queen Victoria’s British Pub.

If you’ve somehow managed to avoid the media blitz surrounding the wedding of Prince William to Kate Middleton, our hats go off to you. If you’re like the rest of us, take a nap, set your alarm and hoist yourself out of bed on April 29 to watch the shenanigans live at Queen Victoria’s British Pub at the Riviera. From 2-6 a.m. the bar will be screening the nuptials and serving cake, champagne and a wedding breakfast all for $25. It’s just like being there ... almost.

It’s not just food that’s getting the seasonal treatment around town. Downtown Cocktail Room unveiled its spring lineup recently, stocked with drinks that welcome in warmer temperatures with lighter flavors and fresh fruits and herbs. You’ve got a month and a half to sip and sample before head bartender Jeremy Merritt rolls out his summer menu on the first day of the season, June 21.

Put in your vacation request now: Ditch Fridays at the Palms Pool & Bungalows kicks off its 2011 season on May 6 with a scantily clad party hosted by people you actually want to see scantily clad (the 2010 Playboy Playmates) and one guy who’ll probably keep his clothes on (Hugh Hefner). The rest of the season promises to be just as hot with T-Pain taking over the decks on May 13 and Shwayze and Cisco performing live on May 20. —Sarah Feldberg

Cocktail specials on a weekend night? Believe it. Artisan debuts its Rhythm Industry Sundays this week with resident DJs Brian Campbell and JustIN Key at the tables. Sip on discounted drinks ($3 domestic beers and $4 well drinks) from 11 p.m. to 1 a.m., or indulge in a whole bottle: Smirnoff, Captain Morgan and Jack Daniels will only run you $100! —Mark Adams
