North Las Vegas Police will be paying special attention to speedy drivers and pedestrians Friday during a "Joining Forces" event.
The speed and pedestrian enforcement will be from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on major thoroughfares with high vehicle and pedestrian traffic, officials said.
Officers will focus on speeding drivers, pedestrians not using crosswalks and drivers not yielding to pedestrians. The goal is to reduce the number of accidents involving pedestrians and vehicles.
A grant from the Nevada Department of Public Safety will pay for the "Joining Forces" event.
