Metro Police are looking for three armed men after a man was shot Friday morning in what looked to be an attempted robbery of a jewelry store.
Metro spokesman Bill Cassell said police received a call at 10:18 a.m. that someone had been shot in the 500 block of North Eastern Avenue. When police arrived at the scene, they found a man suffering from at least one gunshot wound inside a jewelry store.
Cassell said the victim, who may be associated with the business, was transported to University Medical Center’s trauma unit.
Police said three armed men may have attempted to rob the store. The men fled the scene on foot. It is unclear if they later used a car to get away, said Cassell.
Metro is investigating the shooting.
