Woman found dead in high-rise condo identified as Wynn executive

Updated Friday, Feb. 11, 2011 | 9:53 a.m.

The Clark County Coroner’s Office today identified a woman found dead in a high-rise condominium near the Las Vegas Strip as Wynn Las Vegas executive Sharla Perry.

The 41-year-old director of Wynn’s VIP services was found dead about 7:30 p.m. Wednesday night inside the Turnberry Towers on Karen Avenue, near Paradise Road and Sahara Avenue, police said.

The Clark County Coroner’s Office is still investigating the cause of death, but police officials said they believe Perry died of natural causes. Police have said the death is suspicious, but authorities haven’t ruled it a homicide and said there were no obvious signs of trauma.

Police said the Perry’s mother called authorities to perform a welfare check after her daughter had not shown up to work for several days.

Officials with Wynn didn't respond to a request for comment on Thursday.

Investigators talked to the woman's co-workers, ex-boyfriend and security officials, police spokeswoman Barbara Morgan said. An autopsy was performed Thursday.
