Metro says 227 arrests made during New Year’s in Las Vegas

Metro Police said today they arrested 227 people during New Year's Eve celebrations and booked them into the Clark County Detention Center for a variety of misdemeanor and felony offenses, including 68 for drunken driving.

Another 19 people were cited at the detention center but released, police said.

Metro also recorded 66 traffic accidents from 7 a.m. Dec. 31 through 8 a.m. New Year's Day, but no one was killed.

Nevada Highway Patrol officials said troopers arrested 91 suspected drunken drivers from 6 p.m. New Year's Eve to 7 a.m. the following morning.
