What do local workers do when their shifts are over?

Melo

When bartender Melo’s done mixing drinks, his night is just getting started.

Miriam go-gos at Planet Hollywood. Some nights, she gets out at 1:30 a.m. Other nights, she dances until 4. “At that point I usually go to an afterhours club with some of the other girls. We used to do Drai’s, but now Artisan is really popular.” Others nights, when Miriam’s feeling tired, she heads home and watches Jersey Shore, Basketball Wives or Discovery Channel’s Ganglands. —RICK LAX

Melo (just “Melo,” he notes) has been a bartender at Double Down Saloon for the past 15 years, and at Frankie’s Tiki Room for the past two. When his Frankie’s shift is over at 2 a.m., he and a handful of friends head out to their other favorite bars—Dino’s, Champagnes, Tommy Rocker’s, Four Mile Bar or the Coachman’s Inn. “We drink, play pool and plan our next snowboard or surfing trip,” says Melo, who typically gets home around 5 a.m.—“hopefully before the sun rises.” —KEN MILLER

When Andy Knudson gets out of work between midnight and 1 a.m., the chef tournant at Nero’s ditches the Strip for Downtown. “I love going down to Fremont East. If I go out, it’s whiskey and fine beers across the board.” When the night really gets late, Knudson makes for another favorite destination, Frankie’s Tiki Room, where he’s been known to knock back a few Ninth Islands as the clock creeps toward morning. It doesn’t hurt, of course, that by the time he gets Downtown, Knudson’s almost home. “I can go from a barstool at the Griffin to my bed in three minutes.” —SARAH FELDBERG

Anastasia dances at Spearmint Rhino. She leaves the club after everybody’s broke—usually around 6 a.m. She heads home for a shower, then a bubble bath, then a glass of red. Finally, she crawls into her bed and reads herself to sleep. Her three most recent reads? Masters of Deception, Evil Plans: Having Fun on the Road to World Domination and Search Engine Optimization: Your Visual Blueprint for Effective Internet Marketing. —RICK LAX
