Every day there is talk in Washington as to where the budget cuts should come from. It seems as if there are no sacred cows.
Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid are just a few that are on the table. But, wait, there does seem to be one sacred cow — foreign aid. Why are we hesitant to cut back on major contributions to other countries and have nearly everything on the table when it comes to our own citizenry?
Is taking away money from our seniors and poor a better option than feeding the coffers of foreign dignitaries?
Perhaps it is time to realize that charity begins at home.
