Motorists asked to avoid road work on Rancho Drive near U.S. 95

Road project

Motorists may want to avoid Rancho Drive near U.S. 95 this weekend while crews work on the road.

Work on Rancho Drive will begin early Saturday morning and continue until mid Sunday near the intersection with Bonanza Road, just north of U.S. 95, Las Vegas officials said.

The project includes median modifications, pavement removal and replacement, traffic delineation modifications and traffic signal upgrades.

Motorists are encouraged to use an alternate route, such as Valley View Boulevard or Martin L. King Boulevard, for north-south travel in the area during the construction period.

The project includes a new northbound turn lane onto Bonanza Road, which will not open until Monday morning, but lane restrictions in the area are expected to end Sunday, officials said.

The contractor for the city-funded project is Las Vegas Paving.
