The Nye County Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest of a third person in connection with a rock-throwing incident last month that severely injured a 20-year-old woman.

David Neil Taylor, 23, was arrested Friday in Tillamook, Ore., after Nye County officers received a tip he was there.

Officials said the incident, which appeared to have been planned, happened Feb. 10 at a service station near Highway 372 and Blagg Road in Pahrump.

Police allege Taylor threw a rock through the windshield of a 27-year-old man’s vehicle, striking his female passenger. Two men arrested last month were allegedly accomplices, police said.

The woman was taken by helicopter to University Medical Center with severe head injuries, officials said. She has since been discharged from the hospital.

Taylor was arrested on counts of attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon, battery with a deadly weapon and intimidating a witness.

The two other men, Timonthy Michael Hanahan, 23, and Kevin Thomas Hannah, 20, were arrested Feb. 15 on counts of accessory to attempted murder, accessory to assault with a deadly weapon and accessory to battery with a deadly weapon. They were being held without bail at the Nye County Detention Center.

Officials said they expect Taylor to be extradited next week back to Nye County.
